Extended Stay August 16, 2009
We are currently hanging out in Pueblo. We came here on Friday with the intention of staying for one night and then going home. We ended up staying last night so we had to do some laundry because I was out of underwear and if you know me I cannot wear recyled briefs, one wear then the wash and that is the best for everyone. Today Arissa is going to dinner and a movie with a few of her girls from college, and I am hanging with Nehemiah here in Pueblo. Its been nice being out of the house and sharing our lives with friends and family.
Skype August 3, 2009
Tonight we met with our friends for our Monday night meeting. These people are our Florida family and they mean so much to us. We had a few technical difficulties but in the end we were able to connect long enough to worship together. It made my heart sad that we weren’t actually there to fellowship live and in person, but this was as close as we could get and that will have to do for now. Thanks Skype!
Monkey Face August 2, 2009
As I wait for the train to pass I took this picture. The brick building is the post office in town. To the left in the background, the gray building is a little grocery market. On the far right the land mass is called Monkey Face. The rock mass at the tip of the land looks like a side profile of an ape. That is half the town right there. Here is the caboose got to go!
Church July 26, 2009
Church. Its a funny thing. Like people churches come in all diffdrent shapes and sizes wuth their own personalities. I have been going to church for 11 years now which pales in comparison to Adam who has been going his whole life. I feel like I have seen a lot of church in the last three years. Since we have been in Colorado we attended the same church twice. It was fairly traditional. Today we are at a home church. It is radically different. But I like it. All this to say its not about the building or the servi ce but about the people. I am interested to see what God teaches me through this season.
Some Pics From Our First Month In Colorado July 26, 2009
Hello all. I know its been awhile since I have posted some pics so here they are. I know all of our Florida friends are now dying for some pictures of the little man . This first month in CO has been a good one. I didn’t even realize how good until I started looking at all the pictures. I think that is why I like pictures so much because I have a horrible memory.
We are still in the waiting as far as work goes. I really am seeking the Lord in this time and trusting Him to open up the doors for a job. Whether that is in ministry or just a normal 9-5 I don’t care, I just want to be in His will. Keep us in your prayers as we are in this season of waiting.
July 20, 2009
Its Monday morning and I am enjoying the day with my son. We ventured out for a hike to some big red rocks that are right in our neighborhood. I dont have work now but I am enjoying this season with my friends and family. It has been a blessing for Arissa and I both to be able to watch Nehemiah grow over the last month or so. I wouldn’t trade this time for anything. I love and value my family so much and I will always put them first!
Tucked Away July 17, 2009
We live in the foot hills of the Rocky Mountains. It s hard to see in this picture but the house we live in is tucked at the bottom of these hills. We live in the lower level of a beautiful house in Larkspur, Colorado. The house is owned by some friends I used to go to church with. We have our own entrance, kitchen and washes and dryer. It is actually the largest place we have lived in. We have two bedrooms and one bathroom. We are really enjoying it. The nearest city is about fifteen minutes away. The seclusion has been so nice.
