Simplicity
December 29, 2009
Some times in life don’t you just long for it. In your job, in your family, in your church. It seems like so many things get complicated and difficult. Just yesterday Arissa and I were looking back at some old pictures from the recent past and longing for those times again. I feel as if I am always trying to live in the past and forget to live in the here and now. I feel like my days get clouded with my to do list and I forget to live as if today matters. It is funny because im sure that in 10 years I will look back on these days and long for the time when my son was learning to speak, and my wife was pregnant with our second child. So today I choose to live and enjoy the here and now.
Speaking of the here and now. Last night a little friend came to visit our house, his name is the stomach flu. Nehemiah had it on Christmas day, I got it last night and Arissa this morning. I feel a little better now just tired and weary from a long day. Len (Arissas Dad) brought us some groceries to make soup and he watched Nehemiah for a few hours while we rested. Hopefully we will all be better by tomorrow. I am still deciding if I want to wake up tomorrow morning and go to work. I guess I will see how I feel at 3:30am. Either way my mom has agreed to come up in the morning to help out. It’s great being around family!
So back to the point of this whole post. Simplicity is something that I want to strive for in life. But there is a balance, because if I strive too hard I just may make it complicated.
Making the simple complicated is commonplace;
making the complicated simple,
awesomely simple, that’s creativity.

Nehemiah Cole’s 1st Birthday
November 17, 2009
Yesterday was the little man’s first birthday. We had a party for him on Sunday and he had so much fun. He loves being around people. He is already walking and trying to form words all the time. He is such a blessing to Arissa and I. We are so grateful to God for giving us an amazing son. Happy Birthday Nehemiah. Take note of the cheesy smile half way into the song. I will post some pics when I get a chance.
SATURDAY STUCK IN A CUBE
October 31, 2009
HELLO ALL! TODAY IS SATURDAY AND IT IS 5:57 AM AND I AM IN MY CUBE HERE AT WOW!. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DON’T KNOW WOW! IS WHERE I WORK. I SELL INTERNET, CABLE AND PHONE. SO IF YOU LIVE IN CHICAGO, MI, OH, OR IL, I CAN GIVE YOU A GREAT DEAL. IT HAS BEEN A ROUGH WEEK FIGHTING SNOW LEAVING FOR WORK AT 4AM, I STILL HAVE THE AFTER AFFECTS OF THE SWINE FLU (A COUGH) THAT IS JUST ANNOYING NOW. MAN I HAVENT POSTED IN FOREVER AND ALL I CAN DO IS WHINE. MY BAD. HERE ARE SOME GOOD THINGS.
MY SCHEDULE ALLOWS ME TO BE A BIT MORE FLEXIBLE BECAUSE I GET OFF AT 1:30PM EVERYDAY, THAT I LIKE. I ALSO ENJOY MY DAYS OFF. SUNDAY AND MONDAY IT MAKES THE WEEKENDS SEEM TO LAST LONGER, AND MONDAY IS EASIER TO JUST BE WITH THE FAM. I AM LEADING WORSHIP MORE FREQUENTLY NOW, SO THAT IS GOOD. IT DOES COME WITH SOME CHALLENGES THOUGH.
LATELY I HAVE BEEN CONTEMPLATING DROPPING MY CELL PHONE. IT IS SO DANG EXPENSIVE AND I DONT LIKE BEING SO DEPENDENT ON IT. PLUS I RARELY USE IT. IT SEEMS LIKE PEOPLE ONLY KNOW HOW TO COMMUNICATE THROUGH FACE BOOK OR MYSPACE THESE DAYS AND THE ART OF CONVERSATION IS DWINDLING. WELL I BETTER GET BACK TO WORK BEFORE THE PHONE STARTS RINGING OFF THE HOOK. PEACE OUT.

Extended Stay
August 16, 2009
We are currently hanging out in Pueblo. We came here on Friday with the intention of staying for one night and then going home. We ended up staying last night so we had to do some laundry because I was out of underwear and if you know me I cannot wear recyled briefs, one wear then the wash and that is the best for everyone. Today Arissa is going to dinner and a movie with a few of her girls from college, and I am hanging with Nehemiah here in Pueblo. Its been nice being out of the house and sharing our lives with friends and family.
